It's the 13th night of Abyb and I feel like I've been anticipating this week for months. So many things learned since last year and drastic changes made.
Surface-level stuff: Observing the first of the month according to the first light of the moon instead of a scientific-new moon's conjunction. Why? Because a dark moon has never been recorded to have been used and doesn't make practical sense. There's also no scriptural basis once you figure out that Xhlym/Psalms 81 is talking about the events of the first Psj/Pasach and Mcux/Matsuth NOT Xruoh/Tharuah. (See Wmux/Shamuth/Exodus chps. 12-15);
Observing Yhuwo/Yahusha's Supper Memorial on the evening of the 14th of Abyb, the evening before Psj as I understand it to be recorded. Why? Because after searching the witnesses and despite the apparent disparity, my house is taking the stance that Yhuwo died during the same time window the Psj lamb would be slaughtered; not neglecting the passing of the cup, the washing of feet, the blood on the doorposts, the staves in our hands and sandals on our feet. We certainly have acquired an animal as well. Why? Because it's the Xurh/Thurah, is it not?
On deeper levels, I'm digging in and inspecting the leaven to be thrown out. The leaven in my heart: the roots of bad habits, memories I need to forsake, and overall distracting matters. I'm not making excuses but it makes sense that habits formed over decades may very well take just as much time to break. I am working so that my children have an easier time than me walking out the Word of YHUH. Oh, how I daydream of if my father and mother pioneered through truth and I had them to rely on for support... but it is okay that such a role is instead bestowed on me. Moving forward I want to focus more on walking out and promoting these rules of loving engagement with family in YHUH:
"Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, so that you are healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous one accomplishes much." -James 5:16.
Instead of the condemnation and abandonment of repentant family who confess sin, what kind of nation would we be if we prayed for another once there was confession? What if we weren't afraid to bare our faults and struggles with one another? How sharp would our irons be? For now, I can only wonder.
It's the middle of the night and I want to make good use of this time.
There's a teaching of Yahusha's that I constantly find motivating from MxxYhu/MathathYahu ch. 25 verses 13-30:
"Watch therefore, because you do not know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Aḏam is coming, for it is like a man going from home, who called his own servants and delivered his possessions to them. And to one he gave five talents, and to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability, and went from home. And he who had received the five talents went and worked with them, and made another five talents. In the same way, he with the two also, he gained two more. But he who had received the one went away and dug in the ground, and hid the silver of his master. And after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. And he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents. See, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ And his master said to him, ‘Well done, good and trustworthy servant. You were trustworthy over a little, I shall set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
Then he who had received two talents came and said, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents. See, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and trustworthy servant. You were trustworthy over a little, I shall set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ And the one who had received the one talent also came and said, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed, and being afraid, I went and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’ And his master answering, said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. Then you should have put my silver with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. Therefore take away the talent from him, and give it to him who possesses ten talents. For to everyone who possesses, more shall be given, and he shall have overflowingly; but from him who does not possess, even what he possesses shall be taken away. And throw the worthless servant out into the outer darkness – there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ "
May we not be found to be wicked and lazy. To my brothers and sisters of endurance, may love for YHUH and one another in righteousness be at the forefront of our minds. A love that we take action on.
Let us remember how YHUH delivered Ywral from Egypt with a strong hand and an outstretched arm and will do so again! Let us remember our Master Yhuwo executing His mission on earth to have His blood shed for our sins. I also want to send a solemn shoutout to the many other brothers and sisters who died standing up for the belief in Yhuwo as we know they were certainly persecuted for it... some whom also were put up on a stake. I want to remember Yhujnn/Yahuchanan the Immerser and forerunner for Yhuwo who despite His obedience, still died in a terrible way... for someone's birthday celebration, at that! (One of the reasons I despise the practice of birthdays.) May his reward be great and suffering turned into jubilation.
I want to enter into the joy of my Master, Yhuwo. Be encouraged family and let's remember to love with our actions.
